A Weaver Bird Takes Roost in New York City’s Fashion District
Aptly named for its location in New York City's Fashion District, David Burke Fabrick is located on the ground floor of the boutique Archer Hotel on 38th Street, steps away from Bryant Park. The branding reflects the friendly restaurant atmosphere while warm, earth tones used in the branding elements complement the spatial design.
Complementing the family of Burke restaurant mascots, a weaver bird sitting atop a woven nest framing the logotype makes reference to textiles and the Fashion District, where the restaurant is situated. The menu covers are designed like fabric swatch stackbooks – inspired by the vernacular of the textile industry – with custom printed fabric covers (complete with pinked edge detailing).
The unexpected menu design is meant to leave an indelible impression on restaurant patrons. Printed fabric textures – where actual textiles could not be used – continue the sense of tactility throughout the branding applications.
